Gimasi Marine is a division of Gimasi SA, a Swiss company that has designed connected, low-power electronics since 2012. SailNav is what happens when that know-how goes to sea.

Gimasi SA
Swiss IoT engineering, since 2012.
Gimasi SA is an IoT engineering company based in Mendrisio, in the Swiss canton of Ticino, entered in the commercial register in 2012.
We design connected products end to end: electronics, embedded firmware and cloud software, from the first prototype to the finished device. Our work has focused on low-power wide-area networks such as LoRaWAN and NB-IoT, including our own LoRaWAN and NB-IoT modules and the Tuino development board.
Together with Swisscom, we worked with Coop on its own IoT sensors connected over Swisscom's LoRaWAN network, with firmware updates over the air.
Gimasi Marine applies the same discipline to sailing: sensors that run for years on almost no energy, sealed hardware, reliable radio links and firmware that can be updated in the field.

Why SailNav
Good instruments shouldn't be only for big boats.
Most sailors learn on dinghies, and that is where good data helps most, but most sailing electronics are designed for yachts with wiring, power and budget to match. We want every sailor to learn with real numbers from day one, then grow into a full keelboat system on the same platform.
